Japan Textile Federation

Japan Textile Federation (JTF) is an organization that was established in 1970 based on the need to deal with U.S. regulations imposed on cotton products and mounting calls for introduction of regulations on imported wool and man-made fiber products.  As of January 2024, JTF is composed of 32 organizations and associations related to fiber and textile products.

In order to “recreate” the textile industry into a “total industry that combines production with marketing”, JTF has conducted various activities including collection of overseas information and materials, exchange with overseas textile industry organizations, and making requests to the government and other institutions, based on its basic guideline of “Creation and Reliability,” with a view to presenting a pathway that allows our members to properly address diverse issues surrounding the textile industry.

In recent years, JTF has performed a range of activities on “Securing Human Resources” that become insufficient gradually, global warming, “Response to Circular Economy” for creating a resource-circulating society, “Response to Digital Revolution” with taking advantage of AI and IoT, “Support for Overseas Business Expansion” for medium and small businesses, “Trade Issues,” “Strengthening of Information Transmission Capability and Brand Power,” and “Response to Taxation Issues.”

The textile industry is an industry with a long history and tradition.  Based on the recognition of the need to maintain our strong international competitiveness towards the realization of industry revitalization, JTF will vigorously conduct “aggressive” activities, while building an environment conducive to strengthening our own “defense.”
